Prep For Your Adventure
Clothing
- Hiking boots- The area is rocky so boots that are already broken in are preferred. Durable trail
running shoes are okay. A thicker sole will help keep your feet more comfortable. Waterproof
footwear if preferred. New hiking boots need to be broken in with at least 25 miles before going
on trail. - 3 – Pair socks – (wool or synthetic blend NO COTTON!)
- Underwear- we will let you figure this one out on your own….girls we suggest a sports bra
- Swimsuit (even if you cannot swim, sometimes we wade. Be modest please. Often we hike and
swim in the same clothes) - 2 – T-shirts or 1 short sleeve and one long sleeve. Light colors work best. NO TANK TOPS
- Fleece pullover, fleece jacket or wool blend sweater (pick one not all 3)
- 2 – Shorts or 1 pair shorts and 1 pair pants that zip off to shorts (please make sure shorts are
long enough to wear with a climbing harness) - Long pants – lightweight synthetics fabrics are best (no jeans or heavy cotton!)
- Rain gear! A jacket is a must but pants are also nice to have. Note: A rain poncho can be
supplied by us with your individual gear but is not as good as jacket and pants Note: Quick dry or Gortex gear is preferable or something of similar function. SOFTSHELL JACKETS ARE NOT WATERPROFF! - 2 – Hats – 1 for sun protection and 1 for warmth like a beanie/stocking cap
